Can't put the phone down syndrome

How many times have you watched a pro sports event on TV and shook your head as the camera operator pans the crowd and you see numerous people playing, texting or talking on their phones during the action?

I have the World Series on and can see people behind home plate staring at their phones. I mean, sure, I'm typing this post instead of locking my attention on Game 1, but I DIDN'T PAY MORE THAN $1,000 FOR A TICKET!!!

1. When I attend a game

When I attend a game, I'm on my phone between pitches checking out stuff like Game Day, stats that might not be available on the field's displays, and sometimes streaming replays.

2. Used to be, the most dialed in person at the game was the old geezer with an......

AM transistor radio glued to his ear. Perhaps some of them are looking at baseball stats; today's parks parks do have Wi-Fi.

3. I'm not a sports fan, but I sometimes hang at local minor league games with friends to be sociable.

I surf the net on my phone to pass the time.

Hard to see why somebody would spend major $$$ on an MLB game and do that.

5. People can't out their phones down anywhere

Doesn't surprise me they do it in ballparks.

Disclaimer. I'm on my phone now!
