Told this story to others here: After many years of being a truck driver, my dad switched to selling cars when the dairy he hauled for, closed.

Turns out he as really good as a new car salesman. So good, that after 4 or 5 years, he didn't work for the dealership anymore, rather worked directly for Buick.

Well, Buick is (was) the car company that provided the courtesy cars to the name pros at the Western Open which is about 15 miles north of where my mom and dad lived.

So, every year, i'd take Tue-Fri off, go on Tuesday and Wednesday to hand out the keys to the pros. Then we had VIP passes to the entire site for the rest of the week. So, basically everywhere but the locker room.

The way he treated people when he was in the "inner sanctum" was terrible. Surly with volunteers, rude to the clubhouse help, ignoring fellow pros, ordering people around. . .

Then he'd hit the back door and when the autograph hounds flocked, he was all smiles. He put on a great face, but a complete tool.

I did that with my dad for 5 or 6 years. It was a few years later that his financial advisor quit because Mickelson was giving interviews declaring that he was this investment wizard and did all his own financial analysis. (Which was a total lie.)

I realized that the intervening years had not smoother out any rough edges on that tool.

MSN.com Sports: Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are the two biggest money-winners in golf history...one of them will become $10 million richer. The two golf legends will face off on Friday, Nov. 23 at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas in a winner-take-all match play event.

Mickelson, 48, and Woods, 42, were once bitter rivals, challenging one another for the honor of being called "best golfer in the world." Over the years, the two have become friendly rivals, often playing practice rounds before tournaments.

Fresh off winning the 2018 Tour Championship, Woods is a -220 favorite (risk $220 to win $100) after opening at -130. Mickelson, who opened at +110, is now +180 (risk $100 to win $180)...

Michael Collins had my favorite idea
The loser has to caddy for the winner at next year's Masters Par 3
Right now, they're just playing for other people's $
