Aida Akhmatova, from Kyrgyzstan, awaits her run in mounted archery. The contest stipulates that riders wear their nation's traditional dress, firing arrows from horseback at three targets along a 120-meter track.

2. These girls are brave, pushing against a millennium

old patriarchal culture is no easy task. There is a documentary film, The Eagle Huntress, that tells the story of the first girl to dare to compete with men in the games. Spectacular scenery and a very engrossing tale.

3. US wore Cowboy Gear???

They couldn’t wear traditional native clothing of an American Indian Tribe?

I guess if they didn’t have any member of a Nation tribe competing - then the question is “why were there no Native American Tribal Members competing?”
