Super Bowl shows that rest of league really sucks!

Look at your terrible local team (excluding Patriot fans).

The Broncos were in the Super Bowl in 2016 and they've REALLY sucked ever since. The Rams defensive coordinator, Wade Phillips, was in the same position with the Broncos when the Broncos defeated the Patriots to go to Super Bowl 50. Guess who fired Wade? John Elway. He really sucks as a manager since he had to fire the most recent head coach, Vance Joseph, and we still don't have a quarterback. The Broncos should have been contenders against the Patriots but because of GOPer dumbass Elway we didn't even make the playoffs. Elway has been on TV advertising for some home loan outfit and he's also advertised against an amendment to protect people from fracking--all instead of doing his job!

What about your team? Clearly the Rams have a problem at QB (too shy, stage fright?) while the Chiefs wisely fired their defensive coordinator after losing to the Patriots. Cleveland? They're getting better, but like many teams, everyone talks about how bad the ownership is. In this age of so-called parity and free agency, one team shouldn't be dominating like this.

Overall, this shows that rich people are just as dumb as Trump and when they get far from their area of knowledge, they suck.

Try being a Lions fan and get back to me. I think the Lions have won fewer playoff games than Brady has SB rings.

Just kidding. They really need to light a fire under the ownership in Detroit.

Those three (3) franchises have yet to play in a Super Bowl. The Ravens, who are one year younger than the Jaguars, have two Lombardi Trophies. That’s a, relatively, short time. Oops, I forgot the Texans, oh my! 🥴🤪

The Ravens took the Browns with him so it wasn't like they were built from scratch like other expansion teams. I somewhat consider the current Browns an expansion team while Baltimore is the Browns franchise (the better one).

the Ravens played much like an expansion franchise. It took the Browns/Ravens 6 years to notch its first victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In just their second year the Jags went to the AFC Championship Game vs New England.

I remember falling asleep during the Denver-Jacksonville divisional game that year assuming the Broncos were going to win (they did win a Super Bowl the very next season with their first playoff game against Jacksonville. I still remember Derek Loville so I stayed up for that game.

one of the top teams in the AFC, gaining home field advantage that year. Unfortunately, for Jacksonville, the Tennessee Titans went on a roll during the playoffs. The Titans upended the Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game in January 2000. The Titans would get the top spot the next year, only to lose to the Baltimore Ravens. Oddly enough the Ravens were the only team, I believe, to defeat the Titans in Nashville that year, twice. 😃

That Titans team was really good as well.

Also remember the Jaguars retired Marino with a 62-7 score.

In 2000 had the Ravens defeated the Titans at, what was then, PSI Net Stadium, now M&T Bank Stadium, the Ravens would’ve been the No. 1 seed. Didn’t matter. No team was beating the Ravens, not with that defense, in the playoffs. Denver, Tennessee, Oakland & the NYG all went down.

The fact that the Patriots beat them in the post season doesnt mean they suck.
The Patriots work extremely hard and prepare for each game with laser like focus and have a high level of self discipline. Belichick and the coaching staff are (arguably ?) The best in the league. Even the New England faithful doubt them at times. The tend to start the season a little slow but counting them out is a poor bet. They always adjust and seem to get healthy enough and peak for the post season. Belechick & the coachng staff always have some different schemes for the post season that they haven't shown during the regular season.

4. With so much success, have the Patriots had high draft choices?
Mon Feb 4, 2019, 04:41 PM

There are things working against the Patriots that should have enabled another team to take away some of their success over the years.

I do appreciate what the Patriot's staff seems to be doing. BTW, the Patriots offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels, was also a Broncos head coach. His problem is that he brought some of Belichick's ways of handling players with him and it didn't go over well. Crash and burn.

It's not necessarily how the other playoff teams played, but the overall trend: the Patriots play in and win the Super Bowl a lot more than they would if they had competent competition. A person can go down the list and see that "this or that" team should be a lot better. The fans deserve better--same team in the Super Bowl while the local team stays home. I imagine sports writers will get on their local owners to get the job done. They've even asked if Elway should go. Another rebuilding year for the Broncos instead of contending with the Chiefs, Patriots or Chargers. Hey, we beat the Chargers....in LA, but lost in Denver. San Diego? LA? Another mess from the owners. No wonder they're incompetent, they're always moving their teams.

Belnicheat doesn't really like college new hires. He likes "known" quantities and doesn't consider college ball significant.

I'd add Kaepernick as well. Not that he was the greatest but he is one of the 64 best QBs in the league. Sam Bradford got a starting job this season. We didn't see all of the best players in the league.

Also I see a lot of coach's sons in the league. Not counting Wade Phillips because he is a good coach but good thing Belichick never got fired or you might see a struggling Belichick Jr in the league instead. (Kidding here) what I mean is you see a lot of new faces while a lot of veteran coaches are long gone and a lot of turnover in the coaching ranks.

I disagree about Rams having a QB problem. Their offense was very high powered this season plus give the Patriots two weeks and they can game plan against anybody.

run a complex organization like an NFL team. The Jets are owned by the heirs to the Johnson & Johnson pharm empire, and they are grossly incompetent at it. They've never actually run any organization.

So, when we hear that the 1%ers are better than everybody else and they should run this country. Just look at the NFL.
