Magic steps down

Magic Johnson announced Tuesday night that he is stepping down as the Los Angeles Lakers' president of basketball operations.

Johnson made the announcement at an impromptu news conference held before the Lakers' season finale against the Portland Trail Blazers in Los Angeles.

"I want to go back to having fun," he said.

Johnson, 59, said he had not told Jeanie Buss, the team's controlling owner and president, or general manager Rob Pelinka of his decision.

He's rich, he's massively successful and accomplished and the losing makes all the drama untenable I'd suppose.

The majority owner of the Hornets and minority owner of the Marlins seems to be making bank regardless.

The Hornets were good for 10 minutes back in the 90's.
Small market team with a chance to make playoffs is success in Charlotte.
Apples & oranges, compared to the Lakers.
