Rory's interview after his win was one of the greatest putdown's I have seen in a long time. He called him "someone" and pushed his 21 win's vs. Someone's 20 wins. LOL Too bad he didn't smackdown figjam and mental midget at the same time.

(56,742 posts)I heard the offer to Tiger was nearly a billion.
The one thing the PGA tour can take from the Bone Saw/LIV tour is ditching the cut and paying all players at least something for showing up and playing. Now players who don't make the cut after the first two days of a tournament don't get a cent. They go home or to the next event with empty pockets. On the Bone Saw tour the player coming in last gets 120k.
If the PGA tour had done that long ago Mickelson and Norman probably wouldn't have a beef with them and the rival tour probably would've have sprang up.
One thing that hasn't come up is that the European Tour, Asian Tour and other tours follow the same model as the PGA but those players weren't beefing. In fact many Euro tour players also play in PGA events.

(37,328 posts)On Wednesday, June 13, 2012, Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants pitched the 22nd perfect game in Major League Baseball (MLB) history and the first in Giants' franchise history.
Matt Cain warmed up for his perfect game on Wednesday night against the Astros in an unconventional way: by hitting a golf ball into McCovey Cove.
PGA Tour golfer Dustin Johnson was visiting AT&T Park ahead of the U.S. Open at The Olympic Club in San Francisco and hit some balls into McCovey Cove before taking in the game. He also threw out the ceremonial first pitch, though he didnt pull it off as well as Rory McIlroy.
In addition to Johnson smacking some balls into the water, a few Giants players took swings including Clay Hensley, Aubrey Huff, and former player J.T. Snow. They were looking for more volunteers and Cain stepped forward for a swing. Cain blasted one out of the park and into the water.
