(16,940 posts)really a likable team, and this is from a transplant from Chicago. They have superstars yes....but this team grinds it out. Overcame a lot....role players coming thru....starting pitching a mess. Great managing job from Roberts...

(4,519 posts)We lost 8-9 pitchers to injury this year, and Walker Buehler was coming back from a long injury. He then proceeded to close out the game on less than 2 days of rest. Like you said, props to Roberts as well.
Thank you for the kind words. Go Dodgers!!!

(14,309 posts)A Los Angeles team hasn't won a sports championship since February 2022 when the Rams won the Super Bowl. It feels nice to have that monkey off the city's back.
I can't tell if that's sarcasm! Four years isn't a drought.

(14,309 posts)It seemed so, but you never know!!
The California team wins the series handily. Harris is from California.
The New York team loses the series badly. Trump is from New York.

(4,902 posts)during the heyday of the Big Red Machine no less, my family were perplexed by my being a Dodger fan. I suffered through the '77 and '78 series, and later the glee of '81. By the time '88 rolled around I had become a Tigers fan as well. I never stopped liking the Dodgers and would go to see them on occasion when they visited Cincinnati, always earning the daggers of nearby fans. That was fun.
The strike of '94 left me cold for the sport, and I've only slowly came back over the intervening years. I had hoped for a Detroit/LA series, but got the effen Yankees yet again.
Good ending, though
