2006 Chrysler Town & Country lights problem

No rear lights except for reverse/back-up lights. Brake, tail, hazard, and turn signal lights are all non-functioning. Front lights all okay. Replaced the bulbs, still nothing. Old lights showed no evidence of any damage. Looked like new. There is no fuse marked for these. Tried replugging all the relays. Could there be more relays in a different spot other than the fuse box?

Asking here on the off chance somebody might go If so, THANKS!

there is a fuse for them ... reverse light not part of the setup

other place to look is on the brake pedal itself, up on the arm that the foot pedal is attached, there should be a plunger/relay that activates when you mash brakes, it may have come disconnected, loose or broken

good luck

they should all go to one or two common points. Check that they are clean and tight.

Here's what was discovered. A person needs to be the size of your average 12-year-old in order to get to the wiring under the dash. Evidently, many years ago a 12-year-old got down there and installed a transponder for the toll roads and bridges in Chicago. They must have been 12 because they cut into the wiring for the lights to attach this. Since this transponder hangs down, it somehow got nudged and unclipped, which is now interrupting the circuit somewhere in that mass of wiring. What a nightmare. We soldier on...

Here's the thing about that.

The captured bomber says "cut the blue wire".

There is a period of silence and he repeats "cut the blue wire".

That was why the bomb expert knew to cut the red wire. The bomber knew that he hadn't already cut the blue wire, because the bomb would have gone off. That's why he repeated himself, and that's why the red wire was the correct one to cut.

Simple, no?

We didn't blow anybody up BUT the mystery still remains. Nothing worked. Two weeks ago we had some new tires put on so on the off chance that somehow caused this we called the mechanic. He said no but to bring it on over and he'd run some tests. Fortunately he's only about 6 blocks away so I didn't have to worry about driving through any traffic. He spent an hour checking stuff and could not figure out why there's no lights back there. He said he would check with some people he knew to see if they had any ideas.

So, now we wait. It just astonishes me that there is a vehicle that runs just fine but it can't be used because no brake lights could cause anything from a ticket to death.
