Who was the first player in MLB history to steal a base in 4 decades?

Ted Williams

And he had only 24 stolen bases in his career.

The Splendid Splinter.

Greatest hitter ever.

1. The first game I ever attended he was playing.

He went like 3 for 3 with a homer.

Another interesting fact----late in his career he had his own personal 7th inning replacement guy--Gene Stephens. Stephen's job was to sub for Williams.

3. And here I was sure the answer would be Eddie Collins...

... but he didn't steal any bases in 1930.
