We would go down along the Chesapeake Bay in winter. You could swear you could walk all the way across, more than a mile in the upper section, on the backs of the geese; there were so many.

make a lot of poop to dodge. When I was a kid it was rare to see them now there are millions of them.

thankfully most of it is hidden in the adjacent fields.

to yell at them to get through sometimes.
They pretty much 'chicken out' when I drive my less than imposing old toyo wagon near them.

at least 60 of them came over the house and landed on my front yard that is a 3-4 acre pond. I love when they come in at this time, a little shadowy and fun to watch.
I only saw a few flying today (but wasn't out much.)
