in Utah. I had one scolding me from the crab apple tree.

or raisins.

"My" robins show up on my patio as soon as they arrive because they've been getting grapes here for years. I love robins. They are almost human. When they hear the patio door open, all of a sudden they show up.

And when they have nested, they take grapes to the babies...red, green, purple, doesn't matter.

A few years ago I had a male (I assume) Robin who stalked me. He would come up to my glass in the sun room and peck at it and make the biggest racket. If I closed the louvers, he would find another spot to look inside. He was a real nuisance. It lasted most of one spring, so that was when I decided I could do without them.

The Robins get their berries from a tree in my yard that normally feeds the Bohemian Waxwings. The Waxwings have changed their migration pattern in the last few years, so I don't see them too often, which is unfortunate, as I loved seeing them come in for sustenance.

The waxwings are the most acrobatic birds I ever saw. They put their bodies in such weird positions to get to a difficult serviceberry.

The robin wasn't stalking you I'm sure. He saw his reflection in the glass and either wanted to make love or fight with another robin.

What I did was to put a little sticker, say the size of a stamp, on the OUTSIDE of the window and he'll stay away. I have a few stickers on my patio doors as well. Nothing you do inside will help keep him away short of tapping on the glass.

The robin is my favorite bird because when I call them or clap, they come.

We both commented that that seems waaaaay early,
but they know more than us.
Spring was so early last year that we were caught unprepared.

We will be expecting our Hummingbirds back in 4 to 6 weeks.

I hate winter, and my mother always did the same thing-----kept saying it is staying light longer every day (really???), and that spring was right around the corner. Thanks for those memories, and reminding me that winter will not last forever.

With all the trees in this little yard, the leaves are unbelievable. She always bitched about them.

Always letting me know when the feeder is empty.

A flock of them flew my brothers yard out in the country, pecked on some berries then flew off. Havn't seen them since. Very very early for them around here.
