*Migration Alert:

There will be high intensity bird migration over our region tonight. Large numbers of birds will be flying! To protect migratory birds, turn off all unnecessary lighting between 11 PM tonight and 6 AM tomorrow morning.

The strong yellow/pink in the map illustrates high intensity. Some nights have more migratory birds passing through than others... tonight they estimate 55.8 million birds will be in flight!

My area is bright pink on the map shown on that site, with just a tinge of yellow, so i guess we won't have as much migration traffic tonight as some, but still a good amount.

My area is part of the Mississippi Flyway, designated as blue on this map:

We always see tons of migrating birds in the spring and fall, and I love i!
