We lived just west of Piestewa Peak. They spent most of their time high in the trees in the neighborhood, but every irrigation day they came down and bathed in the yard. Shocked me the first time I saw one.

Were the trees by any chance palm trees? I know they love palm trees and saguaros.

I'm not sure what they were, but they drip sap and made a mess on my car. But they also provided great shade to the house and we were renting so we couldn't really do anything with them anyhow.

I read they are considered feral and in the article I read the original ones escaped from a pet store years ago,,, but there are flocks of them in certain areas around town esp Scottsdale.

Sigh - I miss Arizona!

to move to Virginia. I miss the desert terribly but between Covid and pending water issues I feel like I got out just in time.
