Related: About this forumThe Osprey have arrived
almost a month earlier than usual. This has to be climate change since they stayed well into December and did not leave until the pond froze over solid. They have never stayed past October before. Anyway, at least one is here and more will come. Sucker has been catching fish non stop. I love watching them.

(34,105 posts)Mine will leave soon unless somehow they decide to stay, the climate is so messed up that you just never know. I have always looked forward to the time they are here. The eagles are nesting and do not do that here, close by but not here. I went to a place and saw bunches of them doing their nesting behavior and sitting on branches touching each other and grooming and that was really fun. LOTS of bald eagles also a huge number of snow geese doing the take off over your head, almost too loud! It was a really great day.

(34,105 posts)They are usually not here long so I will try to get some picks. I have been so lucky to have this big big pond here, loaded with fish. I did not see them for years so when I did and wrote it down I found out they migrate through here. That last osprey last year worried me to death, I was afraid he would be left here with no food and too cold to fly away. Still one or many, I get them twice a year and watch for them each year. They are fun to watch for sure!

(34,105 posts)I have been watching wood ducks come and go. Last year I had babies, one pair but they had their little ones and it was such a thrill. They stayed over the winter as I am very close to their year round range. I have 4 pair here now. I also just had two pair of buffleheads here but they have moved on. I love migration time.
