First appearance in uniform on the field playing in front of a crowd in 2 years! Standing O with entrance in 3rd Quarter. Has to quiet crowd for play call on first series. This is first pre-season game!

Starts 4 for 4, couple 1st down passes. Later, one great throw/catch by local favorite!

Play got slow, PA Defense takes back ball multiple times (Tebow effect?) and says, "Try again, Tim!"

Tebow scores! Runs in ball on keeper, diving over corner for official review!

Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: QB Tim Tebow astounds Coach Chip Kelly; Tebow Likely To Steal Roster’s Third-String QB Position

Not any of this should come as a massive surprise. By now it’s evident that another Philadelphia quarterback Matt Barkley isn’t in the team’s plans after the Eagles has tried to trade him on a number of occasions. With Barkley likely on his way to be released at some point, Tim Tebow is poised to be the Philadelphia Eagles’ third string quarterback behind the team’s top quarterbacks — Sam Bradford and top backup Mark Sanchez — which are starters.

Tim Tebow is breaking up the pads just to get another opportunity to be back in the league. The Philadelphia Eagles Coach Chip Kelly is considered one of the most creative and effective coaches at scheming together an offense in the league. That said, there could be opportunities throughout the year for Tim Tebow to make an impact on the football field.

While Tim Tebow has looked far from being perfect this offseason, he has shown some manifestations of improvement after being out from the NFL for two years.

Tebow was mostly accurate with his throws, including a 45-yard deep ball to Freddie Martino in the fourth quarter and an 18-yard touch pass into the back of the end zone to Rasheed Bailey just before halftime.

In all, Barkley was 4-for-9 for 45 yards with an interception; Tebow was 11-for-17 for 189 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also ran for 32 yards on four carries.

Tebow’s best drive came on the final possession of the first half. The Eagles took over at their 15. Tebow escaped the rush and picked up 22 yards running down the right sideline. After an incompletion, Tebow completed two straight passes — for 28 yards and 23 to Mostert and Quron Pratt, respectively — getting the Eagles down to the Jets’ 12.

Two plays later, Tebow feathered a pass to Bailey in the end zone from 18 yards out.

6. Eagles trade QB Barkley to Cardinals for draft pick

The Philadelphia Eagles may have solved their quarterback problem.

FOX NFL Insider Jay Glazer is reporting the Eagles traded backup quarterback Matt Barkley to the Arizona Cardinals on Friday. Philly will receive a conditional draft pick in exchange.

Barkley being traded paves a way for Tim Tebow to make the final 53-man roster. Tebow and Barkley had been battling to be the No. 3 QB spot behind starter Sam Bradford and backup Mark Sanchez.

While Barkley played well to start the preseason, he regressed and eventually struggled in Thursday's preseason finale as he went just 4 for 9 for 45 yards with an interception. Tebow, on the other hand, finished the preseason strong as he threw two touchdown passes in Thursday's game against the New York Jets.
