Rodgers didn't choke. He was shut down by a good defense and a good game plan.

Repost from another thread:

“We were disguising (coverages) really well,” said 49ers free safety Jimmie Ward. “And we confused him (Rodgers).”

SNIP

Rodgers, 38, is a 17-year veteran who was making is 228th career start. Did the 49es really flummox him?

“I think the only way you can know for sure is to ask Aaron,” (49ers linebacker) Warner said.

“They did a good job of kind of getting me off the spot and a better job of taking away some of the quick game that we got going the last time we played them,” Rodgers said. “… They had a good plan, for sure. It was more of the pass rush. The pass rush was formidable.”

Everyone loathes Rodgers for being a douchebag. Count me in. But do some research before hanging the choke tag on him. I did.

Remember the Super Bowl from last year? Mahomes was shut down. Did he choke? No. His back-up O-line was unable to protect.

Just for your sake, Auggie.

Anyway, I don't want to spare any more time thinking about Rodgers and the Packers. I'm still recalling the Chiefs/Bills shootout with a smile on my face. What a fantastic game that was!

The conference championship games are a letdown by comparison. Sure looks like the Chiefs will beat the Bangles and the Rams will squash the 49ers. I know none of that is a foregone conclusion, but I'd be shocked at any other outcome.

That said, a Chiefs/Rams Super Bowl would be intriguing.

I was kidding around and I think the 49ers' D does deserve some credit.

I wrote a whole lot more than the bit to get your goat (achievement unlocked, apparently).

apologies

Special teams play aside, I was really curious why and how the 49ers won. The offense played like crap and Garappolo made rookie mistakes. Thank the San Francisco Chronicle for their usual ace reporting.

It's in the past. The L.A. Rams represent the future, and that is going to be a bigger mountain to climb, unless Matthew Stafford has a game like Jimmy G did last week.

Not Rodgers. Who remains a crappy human but a heck of a qb.

Mr Lake says, Brady retires. Rodgers toTampa.

...the weather conditions were not conducive to great quarterback play.

They favored a defensive, run-based, error free approach to victory.

That being said the 49ers were still lucky to block that punt and score. They did however, execute a game winning drive and kick when it mattered most at the end of the game.

Rodgers is a diva jerk.
He is also a tremendous quarterback and likely league MVP.

I'm still glad he lost...

Rodgers has a very long window with limited success given the relative talent of some of his teams.

That label doesn't come from just one game yesterday.

He acts like he's been cheated out of a superbowl ring by coaches and the front office. But the truth is, his playoff stats are not as good as his season stats.
