Tomlin confirms Mitch Trubisky as Pittsburgh Steelers' starting QB

Mitch Trubisky will start the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 1 game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, coach Mike Tomlin confirmed Tuesday.

Trubisky, who was voted one of the Steelers' five captains on Monday, was listed as the starter on the depth chart released Monday, but Tomlin hadn't publicly announced his decision.

You knew this coming. Now it's official.

I've always had admiration for how the Rooneys field competitive teams even in "rebuilding" years (put aside the disgusting Roethlisberger saga for at least this thread).

The big question: can the Steelers franchise make Trubisky a winner?

Any Steelers fans care to comment?

...Trubisky is better than most think.
Horrible coaching, rotten defense & an O Line that would only be worse if I was playing left tackle when he was here with the Bears.
Before the "braintrust" decided offensive linemen, wide receivers, & good DBs weren't important, the team won 60% of Mitch's starts.
He's not great, but he's competent & athletic. He'll be an upgrade over old, slow, shot arm Rapelisberger.
I think Steelers fans will be happier than us Bears fans thus year.
