Sony releases fix for firmware v4.45 - You may now un-brick your PS3

I saw this:

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/06/27/playstation-3-update-4-46-update-out-now-details-on-unbricking-consoles.aspx

Over at Game Informer, saying that Sony has new firmware (4.46) and a fix to un-brick PS3's that were hit by 4.45. The page with details for the fix is here:

https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4984

And so closes another chapter (well... For the moment anyway) in Sony's ongoing public displays of screwing their customers.

I try to wait a few hours after a patch gets released before downloading it. I have my PS3 set to NOT auto download patches so I can go check the intertubes before putting it on.

That's what saved me from being bricked. Luckily I saw your post before turning on my console.
