stupid question

ok, i just installed the BFG edition of doom3 from steam... and it dies. i start up, select campaign, hit the loading screen and it dies. i've contacted steam and bethesda support, done everything they've asked, and still it crashes. no error message, it just dies.

any advice? oh, i'm runing vista... gonna try on my win7 laptop tomorrow...

but have you tried checking the PC Gaming Wiki (http://pcgamingwiki.com/) for info? Otherwise I'd try the BFG Edition Steam Forum or a general Google search.

I only have the regular version of Doom 3 so I don't know what the problem could be...
