Jindal to warn of religious intolerance by left, slam HGTV

(CNN) – Gov. Bobby Jindal will strike a familiar refrain in a commencement address on Saturday, warning of an increasingly secular culture driven by a government that stifles religious liberty.

According to advance excerpts of his speech at Liberty University, the Louisiana Republican and potential 2016 White House hopeful will point to legal controversies of late, blaming the Obama administration, Democrats and the entertainment industry for an infringement on religious freedoms.

"Under the Obama regime, you have the protection of the First Amendment as an individual, you see – but the instant you start a business, you lose those protections," he will say, according to prepared remarks.

"The modern ‘left’ in America is completely intolerant of the views of people of faith. They want a completely secular society where people of faith keep their views to themselves," Jindal will say.

This is what he's up to.

In some ways, I would like to see him be the nominee, because I think his extreme positions will drive some centrists to the democratic party.

OTOH, I watched this guy in action in Louisiana. He is no dummy and just loves to be underestimated. He is potentially very dangerous and should be taken seriously, imo.

2. Oh, I believe he's no dummy, but based upon every time I've heard him speak

he hasn't impressed me at all, and with his extremist ideas, I doubt he would impress most of the moderates on either side of the political scene. He MIGHT be able to get the Pub RW vote, but not many others.

For someone like him to get elected as governor in Louisiana was a pretty stunning feat.

He just doesn't fit the usual demographic at all.

But he did and did so pretty handily, IIRC.

7. He is whining about corporation not getting the same rights as people.

It's about We, the people. He thinks corporations should have rights but We, the people in Louisiana by being citizens of Louisiana and some other states is denied the right to use state exchanges to either get Medicaid or health insurance because he refuses to expand Medicaid. This should be his first concern. Also, Hobby Lobby is a publically traded corporation and what gives the Greens the right to dictate to the shareholders or employees what can and can't be done with their bodies. This takes their right to choose away.

Jindal is a whiny kid, trying to make up for his poor job performance.

If people don't want to buy the shit you are selling (and they don't) freedom of speech can't make them buy it.
