Flat Earthers deserve more respect than either theists or atheists for their ideas

By which I mean that Flat Earthers at least have some objective evidence for their ideas, you can look around and clearly see that the Earth is indeed flat with your own eyes.

On the other hand neither theists nor atheists have the slightest bit of evidence visible or otherwise to inform their ideas.

Yes, yes, we all "know" the Earth is round because we have been taught that but how many of us have direct proof of it? How many of us have gone out and measured the diameter of our planet? For that matter how many of us would have a clue how to go about proving the Earth is round to an Earthbound misfit skeptic?

(In fact, "The World Is Flat!!!" was the subject line that I used.)

I make no claims regarding "proof."

Atheism is lack of belief. It's not a claim of anything. Evidence is what we're waiting for before believing in gods. So far there isn't any. Please learn the basics about these issues.

8. Some of us old-school atheists still claim that there is no God.

The issue has become so muddled on the internet that sometimes I get the feeling that we are invisible.

Actual atheist atheists seem to have become a minority within internet atheism itself at times, with our own beliefs being overshadowed by agnostics, who at times seem to view us with embarrassment.

11. But that's not what defines us as atheists.

The lack of belief in God makes you atheist.

The additional positive assertion that there isn't a God just makes you a subset of the group that is particularly confident in that position.

(Don't get me started on the "agnostics" that usually aren't agnostics at all)

By all means believe there is no God. I also believe there is no God so we're in the same boat.

But that isn't what makes either one of us an atheist because that isn't what the category is. The atheist category is all those who do not believe a God exists.

As I (and you) believe there is no God clearly we fall into the wider category of people who do not have a belief in the existence of a deity. THAT lack of possession of that particular belief is what makes us atheists.

Just like a Christian can believe specifically in the Christian God and his son Jesus, but those details of their position is not what makes them a theist. That's what makes them a Christian (subcategory of the wider theism category). Just the possession of a belief in the existence of a deity (generic) makes them a theist. The rest of the more specific details of that belief defines what subcategory of theism they slot into.

it is quite easy to see the Earth is round. This has been known at least as far back as the Greeks.
Like theist, you must ignore a massive amount of evidence to believe the Earth is flat.
So no, it isn't logical in any fashion.
