Donald Trump's remark last weekend about Seventh-day Adventism has focused attention on rival Ben Carson's religion.
Trump said at a campaign rally in Florida on Saturday: "I love Iowa. And, look, I don't have to say it, I'm Presbyterian. ... Boy, that's down the middle of the road, folks, in all fairness. I mean, Seventh-day Adventist, I don't know about. I just don't know about."
In an interview with The Des Moines Register in August, Carson called Seventh-day Adventism "a typical Protestant denomination with traditional values." He also described himself as "not a religious person," but said he has "a very deep and abiding faith in God."
Carson and his wife, Candy, sat down with the Register to address questions about personal faith, the Seventh-day Adventist Church and observing the Sabbath on the campaign trail.

WWJD? When a robber in a store pointed a gun at him, Carson suggested it was better directed at the store clerk.

In the footsteps of Huckabee and Santorum, these vicious crowds of first primary Iowa - how does that keep happening? - wants a vicious, and vacuous, leader, just like in their churches.
And the necessary pandering to these....people, it is polluting all the discourse.

And fake religion?
He just asked for more Secret Service protection.
A shu-in in Iowa.
Let's think this through, Benny. Ben has faith, but isn't religious. So? Probably he doesn't have faith in religion. But in something else.
