Historical drama? Really? How historical? Was last years "Hercules" staring The Rock also a historical drama?

It's not like that cast is A list, or the plot is particularly exciting. Who--even non-religious people--does not know how that little tale ends?

If you don't like it, do what most people do--vote with your wallet.

Join the line for Star Wars, instead.

But don't tell people what they can, or cannot, produce. Even if it's stupid, even if it's dreck, even if it is not to your taste or aesthetic.

That's just .... ewwww. Opposite of liberal, certainly. Isn't our schtick that we put up with differing ideas, that we live and let live?

Where do you get that?

Is my criticism of calling it a "historical dram" inaccurate?

If we can criticize the Benghazi movie, why not this?

Being liberal doesn't mean not voicing opinion.

So, I guess the answer to your question is "I got it from your subject line!"

Maybe "I won't be buying a ticket for this schlumpy effort" makes it more of a personal opinion, and less of an exhortation towards prevention!

Voice YOUR opinion all you want, but don't speak for everyone. It comes off as intolerant, even if that wasn't your meaning.

Do you not get the irony in invoking God in the thread title?

Why does it bother you so much I think this is crap?

people's beliefs result in actions. The entire GOP social agenda is based on fundy Christian beliefs. Sorry if i don't want to sit back and say "it's cool," when their beliefs stop women or gay people from having rights.

but I said their "Social Agenda" and that is based on the beliefs of the people who vote for them. They get far more votes for being anti-abortion and anti-gay than for the marginal tax rates.

Beliefs matter. Bottom line.

This isn't about you, your subject line, or another stupid "historical" Hollywood drama. This is about someone's unfulfilled need to affiliate. It became painfully obvious the moment they started waiving their Democrat peen around the room like a flag at a fucking Memorial Day parade.

And since he doesn't believe in God, that surely reduces itself to just expressing an opinion - not demanding censorship.

I certainly don't think 'Risen' should be censored or banned, but I don't personally plan to watch it.

but saying that something is stupid is the "opposite of liberal."

If you get to have an opinion, so does the OP. The movie looks stupid as shit and will, undoubtedly, suck. Additionally, the fact that anybody is referring to his as a "historical drama" is laughable at best. Saying that does not make me the "opposite of liberal." You telling me I shouldn't say that, might be. You making up a strawman of what the OP says so that you can pretend you are one awesome liberal is kinda gross.

It's not about "the opinion"--yes, they ARE like body parts and everyone gets to have at least one! It's about representing the opinion as the view of "us" when there might be some of "us" who have a different view.

I'm not going to patronize the film either, but I'll refrain from presuming to speak for "everyone."
