Wisconsin State Rep: "The Earth Is 6,000 Years Old, That's A Fact"

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/progressivesecularhumanist/2017/06/wisconsin-state-rep-earth-6000-years-old-thats-fact/

-------------------------
While leading an attack on academic freedom at the University of Wisconsin, Rep. Jesse Kremer says he is certain the Earth is 6,000 years old.

Kremer, a documented Christian extremist and an intellectually incompetent buffoon is currently leading the charge to pass legislation that would expel or suspend students who disrupt speakers at the University of Wisconsin.

Kremer is the author of a controversial campus free speech bill that would intrude “on the University of Wisconsin System’s authority to run its campuses” and would “squelch expression — not encourage it.”

...Previously the dazed and confused Wisconsin lawmaker made the ludicrous claim that the separation of church and state is a “complete fabrication,” while arguing that the U.S. is a “Christian nation.”

That, or the scientists (who are in league with Satan, naturally) are lying.

The skulls can't possibly be 300,000 years old because the earth is only 6,000 years old. See how that works?

From my recollection when I was a member of such a church, there were some rather complex head twisting attempts to make such claims "scientific". Lots of attacks on flaws in carbon dating methods (now completely irrelevent), alternative methods to come up with the number they wanted, and lots of other pseudo-scientific bullshit, just like flat earthers.

Many though just simply go with "Satan's tricking us" since even the fake science is too much thinking for them.

Ignorant Christian fascists.

And people will vote for this buffoon because he has an R after his name.

The co-mingling of right-wing politics and religion.

It's a lot easier to persuade people to vote for monsters if the person they are trusting to guide them to heaven tells them god wants them to vote for monsters.

(Of course, if they actually READ the words of their "Lord and Savior" they'd ... well, they'd leave the church they are currently attending, for starters)

is particularly concerned with persecuting outsiders and LGBTQI people... I think they love that part and stop there. Not that the New Testament is stainless, it's anti-semitism is striking and vile. YMMV
