Dan and Fran Keller, who were convicted in 1992 of child sexual assault charges despite a distinct lack of evidence, have been officially exonerated by prosecutors in Austin, Texas. The couple spent more than two decades in prison before being released on bail.

Now, the Kellers are free in every sense of the word. The Travis County District Attorney’s Office admitted that there is “no credible evidence” against them.

The Kellers were each sentenced to 48 years in prison after Christianity-fueled mass hysteria contributed to false claims about them, including that they were evil Satanists who sacrificed babies and put blood in children’s Kool-Aid.

This decision is a win not only for those convicted based on false testimonies and victims of mass hysteria, but also for maligned “Satanists” and anyone who values the importance of scientific evidence in criminal prosecutions. If even one person can be wrongly convicted due to psychological confusion or panic, which we’ve seen here can happen to multiple people, we need to put our emphasis on the facts and not emotional pleas based on ignorance.

when officials let their religion cloud their official judgement.
I followed this case. There was a large contingent of "Good Christians" who pursued the couple.

2. Sick I remember when all this was going on . If you were a working women who put your kid

in day care idiots would ask how do you know they aren't satanist taking care of your child. To me it was a push by religious against working women
Couldn't listen to heavy metal or play dungeons and dragons with out being called a fool who the devil is going to catch if you play with that fire
And I live in a large city . You would laugh back then at the morons but what if they started more shit like this now with the evangelical crowd and trump so insane, they could turn on any industry or media and /or any group of people

Look at Pizzagate lot of sick and stupid crazed people maybe more than the satanic panic of the 1980 -90s got to believe those outrageous lies

3. It's a damn good thing the death penalty wasn't available

for their alleged crimes. They surely would have been executed in Texas, and no one would never find out they were innocent all along.
