Sister Simone: Republican's Trumpcare Plan Is Opposite of 'Pro-Life'

From the article:

"Writing in The Hill on Monday, anti-poverty crusader Sister Simone Campbell took Senate Republicans to task regarding their healthcare bill—and the implications it has for millions of Americans, particularly women and children.
As the executive director of NETWORK, the Catholic social justice lobbying group, Sister Simone has been a vocal advocate for the expansion of health coverage for Americans and for ending income inequality. While many in Washington see healthcare as a controversial issue, for Sister Simone, it couldn't be more simple. For her, she writes, "it boils down to making sure that as many people as possible have access to life-saving healthcare coverage."

So, contraception, abortion, family planning of any sort, like IVF, that's all a no-go. Right?

All depends on whose Ox is getting gored, am I right?

Edit: Apparently she is somewhat supportive of women accessing safe and legal abortion, but in an NPR interview, I got tired about 3/4 of the way through the transcript reading her dancing around the contraceptive mandate.

Too bad she has zero influence on anything, and continues to support her church which actively opposes reproductive rights and promotes bigotry against the LGBT* community.

Walking away is literally the only thing rank and file Catholics can do to affect policy at the top.

Some want to fight from the inside.

I couldn't do it but others can and I don't begrudge them.

Also it is about standing up for your opinion inside the church. People who stay understand change happens slowly.

It can be enormously frustrating but people do fight inside the church.

I also left, but the politics and positions of the RCC do not define or limit the message and example of Jesus Christ.
