(4,031 posts)...fall into the trap of schooling us as to what is generically "good news" or not before we even get to read the article or post.
Please let us evaluate and decide for ourselves without prejudgement or taint.
I would suggest that, as a group, we often find it more enlightening to discuss the merits of any particular idea/post within the discussion that often follows, without having to work our way from a position foisted upon us at the start.
IMHO, this is a tactic unworthy of anyone who wants an honest discussion.

On edit: I would suggest that the standard you were attempting to observe is not a "group standard" but one of a small subset of the group. You may have been influenced by the prolific posting by said subset verses what is actually the general/overall group standard.

I see by your ribbons that you, too, earned the USAF expert marksman ribbon. I got mine with a perfect score with the M-16, over 50 years ago.

(4,031 posts)...and my EMR was earned ~30+ years ago but not with a perfect score. I was subject to the cost cutting 22 caliber insert version of an M-16 during my qualification, which I am told is much less accurate and precise.
