When did you learn God had joined the Republican party?

I remember very clearly where I was when I learned God had become a Republican. It was toward the end of the summer of 1960, and I was getting ready to go back to college for my senior year.

One Sunday I was in the College Students Sunday School class. That day we had a special guest speaker. The man was a respected member of our church and had been invited to share with us his experiences at that year's Republican National Convention.

He spoke in hushed tones about how he had constantly felt God's presence at the convention.

As a good Southern Baptist girl, I knew immediately why God had been at the Republican National Convention. The Democrats had chosen a Roman Catholic for their 1960 candidate!!

And everybody knew Catholica were NOT Christian.

Some people think God became a Repulican when Jerry Falwell started the Moral Majority. Other dates have been suggested.

But I KNOW when God joined the Republican party. I heard the personal testimony of someone who was there when it happened.

and the Left (Sinister in Latin). If you are an evangelical, I guess it is important to always be on the Right. But what if the Left were right? You have to overlook just about everything your eyes and hears are telling you, to be a Republican who thinks this is God's Party.
