I don't care who you are a moat that has been there since the 14th century is just cool. Most castles you visit you can see where the most used to be - but very rare to see an actual moat....

Last summer, we went to Ireland to visit some castles. It was awe inspiring to stand in a building that was 500 or more years old. In the U.S., we don't have buildings anywhere near that old. One castle we visited was started 1,500 earlier and had been rebuilt 6 times in its history!
