http://www.patheos.com/blogs/progressivesecularhumanist/2017/06/creationist-ken-ham-blames-atheists-ark-park-failure/Sad monkey: A bitter Ken Ham blames atheists and the secular media for the perceived financial failure of his Ark Park.
" we are in a spiritual battle, and the intolerant secularists are so upset with such world-class attraction like the Ark (and Creation Museum) that publicly proclaim a Christian message. They will resort to whatever tactics they deem necessary to try to malign the attractions."
--------------------------------------------------------
There you have it. His failure to deliver on his promises is the result of intolerant secularists. I'm sure somebody saw that coming.

I take full responsibility.

(49,533 posts)There were some on DU who claimed that the atheists who helped sponsor and get the Interfaith protected group created (so that theists would finally have a place to talk about the wonders of faith without pesky atheists harassing them with dissenting opinions), were also somehow responsible for the pathetic participation in it, and its transition into a ghost town.

(15,805 posts)Limited audience who were likely one time visitors and many who lack the money to buy all their overpriced commemorative bling and memorabilia. The nutty storyline was questionable and not supported by other religious sects. As a single destination attraction, the venue was not going to deliver the most bang for the buck for vacationing families.
It they had built the arc as an actual passenger ship for short excursions, they could have attracted a wider audience and possible kept it financially viable.

- Shoveling animal feces over the side
- Hand feeding the predators
- Sleeping with animals, ones that probably don't like humans anymore (if they ever did)
- Forced listening to sermons from 'Noah' himself.
- Rowing the boat, after all they can't have real engines and how else are they going to be able to go in and out of port?

(10,749 posts)True believing Christians were cowed by intolerant atheists. Wow. That's some faith they have there, when they're unable or unwilling to stand up to atheists and show their faith by going to a bogus theme park.

Hmmm, I think I need some lessons on cowing. Do I send cowing emails? Cow them at their churches? Do I need a barn to cow them? So confused and dont realize my own power to cow.

(5,339 posts)I just wanted to clarify that this was not "new" info...
The idiotic Creatard theme park was a failure before it even started. PZ Myers and his crew visited to show the utter stupidity of humans riding on dinosaurs with saddles (among other things) Yes, that's a thing you can do there; hop on a fake dinosaur with a horse saddle and take a pic.
Beyond that childish idiocy, there lies the fact that the state of Kentucky granted this fraud, Ken Ham. MILLIONS$$ in tax breaks to construct this monument to morons.
That's the true nature of this failure........granting imbeciles tax money to erect "Monuments to MORANS" ...while the rest of the post-3rd grade educated populace shake our heads in disbelief.
