For the 1st time in the history of the General Social Survey...

It appears USA is trending with the rest of the non Muslim world, or at least catching up.

For the 1st time in the history of the General Social Survey, more Americans report "never" attending religious services (29.8%) than those who attend "nearly every week or more" (26.8%).

So there were 10 possible responses, which I combined for the chart below as detailed in the table below:

(I dropped all the IDK's & NAs)

With the combined data, I added 2nd order Polynomial Trend-lines with 30-year projections:

In 2018:

>1/Week is down ~40.6% to 5.5% from its 1984 peak of 9.3%
0.5 to 1/Week is down ~41.1% to 20.5% from its 1972 peak of 34.9%
1 to 3/Month is down ~30.3% to 14.2% from its 1987 peak of 20.4%
1 or More/Year is down ~25.5% to 23.1% from its 1980 peak of 31.0%
<=1/Year or Never is at its all time high at 36.6%, up ~114% from a minimum of 17.1% in 1987
