Famed Bible expert

That drawing does not do her justice. Here's a better picture:

This lady has an interesting story. A star of great notoriety in her day. I wanted to verify the claim made in the first image so I did a little research and met a nice person. Her name is Sherri Snyder and she's written a biography of Barbara.

I couldn't find confirmation of the Bible claim online so I decided to write to an expert. She sent me an informative reply.

This is interesting.
While I don't know how many times Barbara read the Bible, I can tell you that she was deeply religious. Her religious inclinations ran the gamut from Catholicism to Christian Science; she even considered becoming a nun at different times in her life. Since she was also very intelligent and loved to read (she professed in adulthood to have "read omnivorously" as a child, and that she preferred books to any other type of company), it wouldn't surprise me if she knew the Bible very well and was able to speak with authority on it.

You certainly find some interesting information.

While we may not agree on some things, I appreciate what you post.

3. Let's not forget Barbara LaMarr's relatives, Heddy and Hedley Lamar. I'm not sure if they were

also religious but they've made me laugh.

I don't know. I've read the Bible through at least twice. It's sure confusing at times and the confusion is well-founded when we look at detailed information about the various aspects of the Wholly Writ.

I don't trust people who self-identify (or are identified by others) as religious. According to my study of
history it's religious people who cause a lot of trouble, lighting the fires that burned heretics or witches
to death or plaiting the nooses used for hanging the same people and others who are judged guilty.

I'm surprised and saddened that a person who "read omnivorously" didn't self-educate herself out of
of her religious delusions, since it was a big help to me.

4. Good for her!

I hope she learned something from spending all that time. I don't think I could read anything 27 times.
