Related: About this forumUpdate on the very strange case of William Lynch, the priest he thumped, and his jury:
http://www.ajc.com/news/nation-world/jury-eyes-case-of-1470641.htmlIn a few words, Lynch (no jokes about names please) went medieval on a priest who he claims assaulted him in 1975.
The priest took the stand and swore no assault occurred. Then.......the priest decided to have that particular bit of testimony stricken on the grounds that he feared a perjury conviction. Possibly influenced by the major payout already made by the church. Over $600,000.
That's heartwarming.
The jury is taking a break over the 4th. Lynch is certainly in legal jeopardy, largely because I am not on his jury.

(6,271 posts)1. Update on update: jury invites Mr. Lynch to walk out into the sunshine free.
Evidently the privilege of giving molestors a thumping doesn't expire.
Good job, jurors.

But sounds like another good one for a screenplay, lol!

Too bad he was free to mess up so many lives though.
