Religion & Optimism

Been thinking about the relationship for quite a while.

Have meant to post something deep and detailed here. Didn't get there. Yet, I came down to this musical analogy, for now. A bit simplistic, but one that intrigues me.

Religion isn't always optimistic. Love isn't always happiness. Yet, there are times when both meet in the course of things.

"Something that can make you do wrong, something that can make you do right."

I do think it helps some people stay optimistic.

...I don't think (a) the world is going to end soon, or (b) anybody is going to hell.

That, from the get go, makes me infinitely more optimistic than a large swath of the population.
