As an atheist, "Here I stand. I can do no other" (props to Martin Luther, who said that first.)

Maybe I'll have a specially nice dinner with my family this Sunday. And thank THEM for being there. Because they exist.

I'm not that much into provocation in general. I just am who I am and let people make decisions about what they think of me on their own. I don't hide my atheism, but I don't trumpet it in public, either. I'm more vocal about it on discussion forums like this one, where atheism is constantly being either condemned or laughed at.

In the real world, I'm normally silent unless asked.

Because people can come and go if they choose. My entire immediate family (parents, siblings) is devoutly religious, and they finally know better than to preach to me. As a matter of respect, I don't "preach" to them (ironically, that means I don't recite their bigoted, murderous, racist, homophobic bible passages back to them).

To my devout facebook "followers", however, I will honor this holiday.
