Catholic Church’s Pedophilia Investigator Jailed For Pedophilia

http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/catholic-churchs-pedophilia-investigator-in-charge-of-child-protection-jailed-for-pedophilia/news/2011/11/14/30172

he Catholic Church’s pedophilia investigator, in charge of child protection and interviewing adults who as children had been victims of pedophile priests today was jailed on pedophilia charges in England. 49-year old Christopher Jarvis, a married man with four children of his own, began serving his 12-month sentence after serving the Catholic Church for nine years in a dioscese that included 120 Catholic Churches. Jarvis admitted to the charges, which included possession of 4000 images of pre-pubescent boys, including several depicting sadism, child rape, and torture.

“The revelations that the church hired a peadophile in a key child protection role will add to the controversy surrounding the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales over its handling of sexual abuse,” The Daily Mail reported today.

For an organization that legitimizes itself on something that happened 2000 years ago, I don't think I would call this old news.

The story was interesting as far as what some people do because of religion, the OP's comments about the country were unfounded.

Surprised you didn't know about it. There were at least 5 threads on it, including one in the Religion/Theology group started by cleanhippie.

Hadn't heard about it either frankly. Hard to keep up with all the black collar crime stories really.

The hypocrisy is stunning and abominable.

I am, however, surprised that people were not aware of it, as it was posted here at the time. I also wonder about why someone might decide to post it now.

Sometimes it is not in one's best interest to support an action, even if that action appears to support your cause.

who don't follow every post here on a daily basis, and who occasionally have other things to do than check in here for the latest lunacy of the RCC.

If you'll please inform us as to the statue of limitations on the truth, I'm sure everyone here will be glad to observe it.

Jurors (expecting this like anything even slightly criticizing Christians to be breathlessly alerted) please read the whole thread before deciding. And the one referred to too. "Context" is a favorite apologetics tactic after all - so try to be a bit fair.
