A naked woman and man are depicted here. Behind the man is a tree with twelve leaves denoting the Tree of Life. Behind the woman is a fruit tree with a serpent entwined upon it representing the Tree of Knowledge. The man is looking at the woman while she is looking upward at the angel who, with the arms extended, pours down influence upon them.

This is the self conscious intellect (represented by the man) as being not in contact with the super-consciousness (the Angel) unless it is through the subconscious (the woman). The struggle between the sacred and the profane. Attraction. Harmony within and without.
