2. This is my go-to site for cures

Apple cider vinegar is the most popular remedy for most conditions, and so it is for allergies too. The thing about this site though, is that people write in their experiences with the various cures so its good empirical evidence.

The Mr suddenly came down with a pounding sinus infection on a Friday evening, of course the doctor's office is closed until Monday. So I looked on this site, the remedy was to boil apple cider vinegar in water and inhale the steam. It cleared his sinuses in a couple minutes. He repeated once more during the night and he was cured. I tried it too, it was like inhaling battery acid but it sure worked! And there were no vile side effects.

on edit: I would say to also use a neti pot. I've had good luck with that for sinus issues.

10. CAUTION: Only use DISTILLED WATER in your neti pot!

There are cases of people using regular tap water & the ended up w/terrible problems--or dead.

I would not use just the water, as it will hurt. Get the packets of saline designed for the neti pot to mix w/the distilled water. They are inexpensive at most drug stores.

you have to mix saline with it or it stings like crazy. I also add a pinch of baking soda.

pot idea - I actually use a squeeze bottle as I found it easier.

Also use a saline nasal wash - for some reason it doesn't hurt as much as just water - and boy did just the water hurt.

My husband also rubs vaseline in his nose when he is going to spend time outdoors.

Good luck.

12. You will probably need a combination of things to help

Alkalol! I love this stuff for sinus problems. http://www.alkalolcompany.com/alkalol/#.VAe6vhayobQ

If you are suffering from seasonal allergies, try a combination of treatments. Try eliminating dairy products as they produce mucous which will cause sinus inflammation. If you have serious allergy/sinusitus, you might need to take something like Zyrtec at night, then take Claritin in the morning. If you still have nasal congestion, try Nasacort once a day.

I have noticed that my sinuses will clear with my sleeping positions. If you sleep on your back or stomach, try sleeping on your side. Also, it helps if you elevate your head/shoulders. Very important to keep your neck/shoulders supported/aligned. Use 2 pillows--one firm (on the bottom) and a softer pillow on top.

Also, try to find a naturopathic practitioner to work with you to find out where your sensitivities might be. IMHO, this will give you the most help.

nosal to put on the end and it goes in one side of the nose and blocks out the air.

So it is a mega Neti pot. I used it all the time when I had the big sinus infection of 2013
