Attended an online Circle of Life last night

The guide mentioned my mother's name right out and told of a habit of clearing her throat often which my mother did. She wasn't a smoker just always had a dry tickle.

The guide said we got one question each. I asked about my chronic hives and their cause since I've been to 3 doctors with no clue. She said my Mom was telling her that I am far too nervous for my own good and that is what's triggering my immune system to over react. She said that I have to get it under control as soon as possible as it's hurting my heart energy too.

So I am wondering does that mean my heart is being damaged physically or just spirtually? I've been nervous and scared most of my life. I've been diagnosed with clinical and chronic depression, and anxiety disorder. Therapy and medication help some but have never cured either. I don't know how to suddenly stop being afraid or to start loving myself as I was told I needed to last night? My Catholic School upbringing taught me that loving yourself equalled pride and selfishness which are sins according to them. Part of me doesn't believe that but obviously some other part still does because I can't stop feeling worthless and guilty.

The guide suggested I learn to meditate and use lavender spray mist at night before I go to bed. I 'm going to try.

5. Thank You!

I asked a friend who does Yoga if she knew if the place where she goes teaches meditation as well. They do so I think I will take some classes.

2. The hives

I know my post isn't the answer you seek, but I felt compelled to post. I know someone who has suffered from hives for years. They were just diagnosed with an autoimmune skin condition. There is no cure, but it is being managed through a paleo diet. Perhaps worry isn't your trigger. It may be a food. Or even something you are drinking.

6. That is good to know that some foods can be a trigger.

The immunologist I saw ran a whole bunch of tests on my auto immune system and they all came out fine. He wants me to try allergy testing now though originally he had told me he didn't believe they were being caused by an allergy. I can't get tested though until the hives clear up without medication and so far that hasn't happened. So far all the tests to go medicine free have failed.

7. Put some ice on them.

Often the cold will help.

(FYI: I think the triggers were red wine and aspartame.)

3. Thank you for sharing your experience here. Have you had lab work done?

Is your Mother still alive? If not, what caused her death?

Intuition leads me to suggest that you might have a spiritual issue that is manifesting physically. I do not have a medical degree or any particular expertise. THis is simply an intuitive observation.

I think that religious dogma has caused many people to feel anxious and guilty. My southern baptist upbringing left me feeling unworthy and filled with sin. Like you, I am intelligent enough to know that organized religion is a way of controlling the masses, but the psychological toll is tantamount to PTSD.

Many people I know have experienced great things with Reiki, as well as deep massage. That, combined with good dietary and health practices.

4. Meditation can enhance all other remedies you choose to use.

These meditations are, IMHO, great for keeping one focused:

8. They have done lab work and it all came out clear.

They have not allergy tested yet and apparently can't until this latest round of them subsides. My mom passed in 2008. She died of complications due to the chronic form of leukemia that develops in some seniors. She was also in the first stages of Parkinson's.

I think your intuition could be right. Since so far the traditional medical tests have come out fine I am left seeking alternative causes. I've seen on some accredited medical sites that Stress can play a factor in hives, and the reading that the guide did the other night seemed to confirm it might be the case, with a spiritual element as well. I am going to sign up for meditation classes and continue with the immunologist at the same time.

I so agree with you that the psychological effects of overly strict religious dogma is very similar to PTSD.

12. Itch-X Gel (+ aloe vera)is an OTC remedy that is widely used by lots of allergy practitioners.

My allergist's office always used to apply it after allergy injections. Also, Lidocaine Plus creme, also available OTC, will stop the itch. Sometimes, a combination of the two will be needed.

17. Thanks I did buy some Itch X

it does help. Right now I am in temporary remission. I guess the antihistamines finally built up enough to keep me from breaking out, but if I try skipping a dose to see if they are gone or just being controlled, they come back within an hour.

16. They do get very itchy

They are finally temporarily under control now with the anti histamines so I don't have any out right now, but the next time I have an outbreak I will try the Aveeno.

13. I know someone who has issues around fear and love

I bought them this book, and they really seemed to get a lot out of it. I read it too, its a really good book, nice and easy to read. Check the reviews and see if it sounds like a fit.

Love Is Letting Go of Fear
Gerald G. Jampolsky

Also, regarding your hives, this may help:

While the cause of hives is often difficult to identify, many natural hives treatments work no matter the cause. One particularly effective hives treatment is activated charcoal. Taken on an empty stomach, activated charcoal absorbs any toxins or allergens in the system and clears the outbreak in as little as one day. Additional treatment options include apple cider vinegar, iodine, licorice extract and oil pulling. Almond, lavender and tea tree oils applied topically also sooth and heal hives from the outside in.

14. maybe I should check out that book.

I'm learning lessons I needed, being single, but I'm lonely! Enough already!

Complex-PTSD (ie FEAR! Traumatic experiences over a long time), don't know what to do to put love in place of that.

..maybe this book might help.
