They wanted to mine the minerals eventually for their star ships that they need. Now that we have better technical abilities and are advanced their ship will be coming here soon to make sure we mine and give them what they need. Based on their cycle through the solar system (and their UFO's that keep to monitor our progress) they should be returning soon (will say they are saving us from ourselves and then get us to do their work for them).

Based on experiments they have performed they can heal a great many things and turn us into better workers...
