We went in the late afternoon, with few others there at the same time. I'm glad it was nearly empty. I don't think that I could have tolerated any kind of typical tourist types -- quintessential "ugly Americans" (who actually come in many different nationalities).
It is a peaceful site today, which makes the horrors of the place worse. Do go, if you ever get the chance, but plan on free time for the rest of your day. You will need time to think.

I don't need a tour, however, as my uncle told me all I needed to know about it, as he had first hand experience with its operation.
But I do appreciate efforts on getting this known.
