The court sentenced the three men – Muhammad E., 31, Ismail A., 26, and Muhammad A., 20 – to suspended sentences for tossing firebombs at the synagogue. and causing €800 worth of damage."

does that mean they received no jail time?

the terms of their probation then they go to jail.

I think it's the same in the US. Not sure about Germany but I'll assume it's the same. That is, actual jail time doesn't happen unless they screw up their probation.

in return for ISIS?

That's just fucking stupid.

I spent a fair amount of time in Germany during WWII and after. (I was a native German speaker, and military policy -- basically an interrogator.)

They were unrepentant then, and remain so, in my opinion.

Many, if not most, have been foul antisemites since before Martin Luther and remain so today.

I'm guessing 1/4 to 1/2 of the responses would be support for the collective punishment of us worldwide.

Most of Europe is full of unrepentant antisemites. Their excuses have just changed over the decades.

A recent survey of Democrats show that the barest plurality is anti-Israeli/Jewish and pro-Arab.

The increased hatred is a relatively new thing, I think. Hopefully, I'll die before the next pogrom.

In the meantime, my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren keep a bag packed.

My son thinks Singapore, this time.

Seems many have a similar opinion despite their self-identification as people who are committed to diversity. The same people who shriek about not blaming "all (insert group)" for the actions of a 'few', are more than happy to do the same when the victims are Jews. These are also the same people who are whining about the re-emergence of Nazis, but always seem to "forget" one of the original targeted groups of those assholes were Jews! They have no problem comparing Jews or Israel to Nazis, but have a fucking issue if Jews make comparisons about Nazis or the Holocaust.
