Antisemitism 'calling into question future of Jewish life in Europe'

Analysis finds increase in almost all forms of antisemitism - leading to ‘increasing sense of emergency’

The future of Jewish life in Europe is being called into question by rising antisemitism, according to an analysis of global attacks and abuse.

Jews in many countries around the world feel an “increasing sense of emergency”, said Moshe Kantor, the president of the European Jewish Congress, launching the 2018 Kantor Center report on global antisemitism on Wednesday.

The analysis by the organisation, which represents Jewish communities in Europe, found an increase in 2018 in almost all forms of antisemitism, with the number of major violent incidents rising by 13%, from 342 to 387. The highest number of such cases were in the US (100), the UK (68), and France and Germany (35 each).

A separate report published by the US Jewish activist group the Anti-Defamation League on Tuesday, three days after a shooting at a synagogue near San Diego, found that violent attacks against the Jewish community in the US doubled last year.

This is hideous. I'm not sure that antisemitics are actually against Judaism. They're too Karadeniz May 2019 #2

in immigration by French Jews to Quebec. Quebec has a large Orthodox population and obviously a majority French speaking population.

Ignorant to know the particulars of any faith to justify being against it. I think they're against Other, be it Jews, Muslims, blacks or gays. Anyone, anything Other to vent against. These people are just empty. Hollow. The only or easiest thing they can muster up as a feeling is hate. Hate gives their empty selves a purpose, better or easier than admitting that their lives are useless otherwise. Theirs is a fantasy reality, imagining they are heros to militate against "inferiors" when it is the lurking self knowledge of their own inadequacy that seeks to lower others. Putting others down in no way elevates oneself.

This doesn't help those on the receiving end of redirected self hatred. I'm so sorry people are so misguided.
