Anyone who thinks Trump is good for the Jews is a 'freier'

If you think that Trump is your friend, you are in for a big shock. You’re nothing more than the con-man’s mark. Or as Israelis would say, just a freier.

The latest argument put forth by Trump supporters on these pages – that he is repugnant but you should vote for him anyway because he is good for the Jews – is head-spinning in its obscenity.

This argument that an amoral narcissist is somehow good for us as Jews does not bode well for us as a people. At the very least, if your best friend is a psychopath, you probably need new friends.

Is it simply the usual rule that religious fundamentalists suck?

Jews minus the ultra orthodox are otherwise among the most democratic demographics outside of black women.

It started with religious freedom, social issues and mostly school "choice". The orthodox like public funding of their religious schools.

Later they embraced the Bush Doctrine and the republican approach to terrorism and Iran.

These days, they see trump as better with law and order and antisemitism. It's not true, but that doesn't matter and some dem leaders willingness to support or back supporters of BDS is a huge turn off.
