C/2011 LR (PANSTARRS) and the Moon on March 12, 2013 at 8:14 PM (CDT)...

The above photograph was taken handheld at f/5.6 for 1/2 sec at ISO-4000 with focal length 61 mm as an experiment with a new camera. This photograph has been adjusted for saturation and brightness.

Any astrophotography advice is gladly welcomed.

If I had taken this picture, I would have imported it into my basic Photoshop program to clear it up a bit, and maybe play with the color a bit.

Currently, I have GIMP on the PC and have found a wavelet denoise filter (http://registry.gimp.org/node/4235) that I am going to use to try to remove the ISO noise. Is there another approach that you would suggest?
