The road map to the Universe: Pathways between our Milky Way and 100,000 other galaxies charted Rea

An incredible road map of the Universe showing the pathways between our Milky Way and 100,000 other far away galaxies has been revealed by scientists after a 10-year quest into the unknown.
The gigantic supercluster of stars, planets and asteroids, which stretches 500 million light years across and has the mass of a hundred quadrillion suns, has been named Laniakea - Hawaiian for 'immeasurable heaven'.
The astonishing discovery has revealed that the Milky Way - home to Earth and our solar system - is on the fringes of the enormous cosmic web.

how large the universe is.

Absolutely ridiculous. Even if it isn't infinite, it might as well be.

quickly become incomprehensible and even our vocabulary is completely inadequate. I mean, we can say the Pacific Ocean is awesome, or unimaginably huge, which it is. How then do we describe the sun, or the distance to that smudge in the sky, Andromeda? And then try to explain to someone that Andromeda is a trillion solar systems, each one 6 to 25 trillion miles away from the next. All contained in that little smudge.

You're right, it's ridiculous. But Jim Carrey is ridiculous, so I don't really know what to say.
