Australian man claims he is Jesus Christ reincarnated, garners followers

Alan John Miller of Kingaroy in the state of Queensland, runs a religious movement known as the Divine Truth from his home, says Sky News.

Miller claims that not only is he Christ, but his partner, Australian Mary Luck, is in fact Magdalene, who, according to the Bible, was present at the crucifixion and was said to be the first person to see Christ after he rose from the dead

This is one of the best lines in the article: "[T]he Anglican and Catholic churches are concerned that the couple are drawing in vulnerable people searching for meaning in life."

"Steve, this debate is about religion, let’s discuss it rationally, now…think about it, if you were God would you manifest your divine glory to a shepherd in a cave in Saudi Arabia in the seventh century? Or as the son of a carpenter in a manger in Judea in the year zero? C’mon, use your mind."

He would know what was there without a colonoscopy. And if he were worth anything, he would make it so that nothing bad was there.

A penguin tried convincing us that studying too much math instead of religion leads to hell. That was her proof. (flip it upside down, it spells hELL)

She was an evil woman, who enjoyed torturing kids.

I doubt that the original Jesus performed any of those.

What would scientific scrutiny have been like 2000 years ago?

(and of course that's assuming there was any Jesus to begin with)

From 2 years ago:

Among his teachings is that catastrophic "Earth changes" caused by the movement of tectonic plates are set to wipe out Australia's east and west coasts and to cause devastation worldwide as early as next year.

Inland Wilkesdale turns out to be one of the safe zones, transforming into a sub-tropical paradise after the changes.

"It will not be a tsunami, but water flowing over the land about 100 metres deep. There will be lots of earthquakes," Miller told one meeting in 2009, according to notes provided by disaffected members.

"There will be no Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Sunshine/Gold Coast. . . Inland is where it will be happening."

What does it take to set yourself up as a messiah and have some gullible people believe you? Is it really just the confidence to carry on spouting the BS?

He said, “...my suggestion is, even if you don't believe I am Jesus, at least learn how to love.”

I think I'm OK with that. If all religious people were like that, the world would be a better place.

With the popularity of Elvis festivals all over the world. There should be "I think I am Jesus" festival, imagine the potential.

LADY IN CROWD:"only the true messiah denies his divinity"
BRIAN: "what sort of chance does that give me, OK OK I am the messiah"
CROWD:"HE IS, HE IS THE MESSIAH"
