That "other place" getting you down? Tired of being "alert trolled?" Tired of "scare quotes?"

Well there is a place where NO ONE is banned. NO ONE's threads are locked. Hell, there aren't even MODERATORS OR HOSTS.

Want to talk about issues openly and honestly, using quotes and links and real adult grown-up language, and not have to worry about The Sisterhood of the Perpetually Outraged alerting on your thread?

Want to talk about things and not get selectively alerted on for violating some Statement of Purpose?

Want to post funny pictures, tell fart jokes, and not be held to any standard other than whatever standard you hold for yourself?

Wellll.....there may be a place for you.

There is often really great discussion about the over-reaching hand of theism in our daily lives, and the struggles faced by Atheists in the US. We talk about serious things.

But we also post photos like this

If this is something you'd be interested in, shoot me a PM. It's through Facebook (Don't go doing a search for Nurse Betty's Knitting Group, or Secret Hate Group, which are two very erroneous (and quite pedantic) names associated by people who aren't members there). It's not just just a private group, it's secret. Doesn't show up on your newsfeed, and you can only get there through an invitation sent by me.

And you don't even have to use your real name on FB. My FB name isn't my real name. It's quite easy to set up a fake FB account if your'e uncomfortable sharing your identity with others.

There are many people who you know and presumably love who are members there. It's a great group, and a great place to blow off steam and relax after a harrowing day fighting with people who think that Urban Dictionary is a stand-in for OED. (These are the same folks who, if writing a research paper, would write a sniveling letter to the professor, whining about having points taken off for using Wikipedia as an unimpeachable source of information)

Send me a PM.

It's practically the only thing I visit Facebook for any more. And it definitely has no filters when discussing the craziness of religion.

And Heddi - you should have gone into marketing. This shit is solid fucking gold!

than we do here at DU. I predicted the word jumpers and other outrage trolls would ruin the site and it's getting there. They're all so goddamned sure of their superior morality and holy purpose in life that there is no getting through to them and the Administrators seem completely flummoxed by the whole thing.

I outgrew my need for a nanny many decades ago.

If only the group were not on Farcebook. I don't want those leeches knowing my IP number, even with Daisy Mae Yokum's name on the account.

and a lot of fun. Wish I could join but I don't do the FB for a lot of reasons that don't need discussing. BUT....

I am really happy for all you FBrs! What a great idea.
