The Way of the Mister: Fuck The Pope!

TRANSCRIPT:

As though the Catholic Church hadn’t already done everything it possibly could to absolutely obliterate the moral credibility it never had, this morning, I woke up to the Pope — the vicar of Christ, the head of the Holy Roman Catholic Church — advocating actual physical violence in response to offensive, or provocative speech, thereby inciting violence, and coddling the terrorists who killed my fellow satirists last week at the French weekly, Charlie Hedbo.

"If my good friend Dr. Gasparri says a curse word against my mother, he can expect a punch. It's normal. You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others.”

"There are so many people who speak badly about religions or other religions, who make fun of them, who make a game out of the religions of others. They are provocateurs. And what happens to them is what would happen to Dr. Gasparri if he says a curse word against my mother. There is a limit.”

Well, I have three words for you, Pope Franky… Fuck you, asshole!

I not only CAN make fun of the faith of others. I do it professionally, you sick, totalitarian bastard! You terrorist apologist! Your claim to be connected to some higher power gets you no pass from criticism, ridicule, and mockery, you self-imporant jerkwad! And by the way, does the fact that I am so deeply offended by what you said now give me the right to physically harm Catholics, destroy Catholic property, or say something like, “well, if someone assassinates the Pope, the Pope brought it on himself?”, you, simple-minding, mouth-breathing provocateur?

Let me explain to you, Pope violence, why you’re dead wrong — because apparently, the 2000 years of your own vile, wicked, totalitarian history has taught you absolutely nothing about basic human decency, you sick fuck!

There are, and can be, no limits on freedom of speech because when there where — and when your very organization was in charge of imposing those limits, you locked up a man for the rest of his life for giving us one of the most important scientific findings in the history of humanity — one you might want to consider right now — that we are not the center of the universe. You murdered people — burned them alive — for speech you deemed heretical and offensive, you fucking moron.

Now, if you want to disregard the stated principles of your religion and help Nazis, or fuck young boys, I guess some would say that’s your business. And God knows you never really cared for the whole “Freedom of Speech” in the first place — what evil empire would? But your dear leader — whose ideas seem to be no where on your fucking radar — was pretty adamant about returning violence with love — and that was VIOLENCE — not simply speech, which neither picks my pockets not breaks my leg. Do you even remember that whole “turn the other cheek” bit your Lord did, you hypocritical piece of shit?

So, fuck you, Pope Francis, you terrorist sympathizer. I will mock the faith of others all I want. That is my right as a human being. You don’t get to harm other people simply because they said something you didn’t like, you fucking, knuckle-dragging caveman. Your recourse instead, is to do exactly what I’m doing here — speak your mind in opposition. That’s it! You stupid hat-wearing, son-of-a-bitch.

For those of you who agree with me, please post using the hashtag #FuckThePope.

For those who disagree, please post using the hashtag #FuckTheDeity (I win either way). Unless you’re the pope. In which case, you have a lot of work to do getting your head out of your ass. You terrorist-coddling douchbag.

I cannot get that much anger over some simple platitudes or dumb comparison. I see his point. He is saying that the Pope is not taking the "turn the other cheek" road. He is saying that the Pope is justifying violence. But wow.

Maybe it's this, and the thought of Romney running again that put him over the edge. Mr Deity is an ex-Mormon I think.

It's more than spot on.... it's a concept. It's clearly to show he CAN mock religion in the most adamant way. He even puts up at the beginning a card that tells you he's deliberately going to use the worst words he can think of.

He's also correct. There's certainly zero reason to default to auto-respect for the Pope.

"default to auto-respect." There's zero reason to do it for any aspect of ANY religion.

I also think that this should allowed to be said. I am just shocked by the venom in it.

I suppose that people are paying more attention to what Frank has to say than usual because he is trying to make such a big deal about how different he is, but it really is insignificant. I don't see it as worth that much rage.

The leader of the largest cohesive religion on the planet just came out and said that people can expect violent retribution for insulting faith. I'm not taking it out of context, or putting words in his mouth, he literally said that. The pope threatened violence on any who insult his faith.

This isn't Kareem Abdul Jabar, or the brother of a cop killed in a religious motivated terrorist attack or some imam in blankistan, it's the pope saying it. Pope progressive the first literally threatening, with handy mimes in case anyone doesn't speak Italian, violence on people who threaten his faith.

So, yea, it's kinda a big deal.

just in the "I want to not seem like it's what I expect he should be saying" kind of surprise. I mean, this kinda invalidates everything about preaching love and forgiveness. Unlike all the business as usual talk of no gays, no woman, protect the poor, they are our job security that usually come out of his mouth, this is actually a different noise and one that is a big negative. To me at least.

The apologist response seems to be "but... but... he said violence was WRONG!" Yeah, while putting the blame on the victim should anyone resort to violence! Just insane that liberal DUers would embrace that horrible attitude.

As usual, it doesn't really make any sense. The Pope rarely does. And religion never does.

You obviously don't get humor in this forum. We are the subject of intense scrutiny by our resident Defenders of the Faith for any signs of apostasy or blasphemy or really anything that can be presented to a jury in some fabricated context such that a hide might result.

I strongly suggest that if you are actually offended by this op: stay out of this forum, in fact trash it, it is not a place for you.
