For a nice break

I enjoy reading "atheists against pseudoscientific nonsense"...its on facebook but there are many people of different political affiliation but I would guess it's. 70-30 liberal vs conservation.
Not to replace our DU home.. but sometimes the batshit is just too much. The petty crap about EVERY THING said here has made it unpleasant to say the least.
It's a nice break. When it gets to be too much here and you need a break. Instead of getting banned, go read logic and reason.

Hope I'm not breaking rules. I just would rather see a positive place like DU stay that way and as long as the religionistas are coddled....we end up banging our heads against a wall, since the loudest complainers here seem to get the argument in their favor. It's new people that we could introduce with similar interests to those of us on DU. Those that lurk are welcome there but the bullshit won't be tolerated.
They have many articles on science. The anti-vaxxers, current events some politics and the people spouting off woo woo medicine and religiosity.
I think they (many if u decide to post) would benefit from the information on DU. We have had practiced correct sourcing.

Joining a Facebook group with the word "atheist" in its name is likely to result in lost friendships, strained family relationships, and job problems.

are closed/private groups. Even your friends can't see anything you post or that gets posted or that you are a member. The only people that can know you are in are other members. You can go the main pages of these groups and see their about section and request to join.

My friends parents and distant relatives don't feel the need to put in their 2 cents.
At the same time the group cannot see my family either unless I specifically friended them.
It is just I have known how many brilliant atheist we have here at DU and the snark and brilliance is comparable over there. We had 200 people 3 weeks ago and now it's over 1000.
I happend to be an admin but there are not nannys and babysitters at the same time a troll gets called a troll which stops them in their tracks

The religious are really turning the stupidity up to 11 on DU lately.

I especially enjoyed these quotes:

just don't go into the other group here. A&A can have great discussion, and bullshit or ridicule will not be tolerated. The problems seem to come up when the discussion goes into places were civility is not the norm.

frequent the other group. I often wonder why. I get my fill of religious people in real life, why go other there for more?

They can't fire you. They can't slander you in your community. They can't run you out of town. They can't scream in your face. None of their powers in real life are valid here, and you can see how it drives them nuts!
